Murders

According to the FBI, the number of mostly white supremacist hate murders reached the highest level in 28 years in 2019. According to an analysis of FBI data by the University of California's Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism (CSHE), the number of hate murders reached 51 in 2019, the highest number in nearly 3 decades. The next highest number of hate murders occurred in 2018, when 24 murders were committed. The third highest number occurred in 1993 and 1995, with 20 murders in each of those years. The majority of hate murders in 2019 were committed by white supremacists (39 of 51 hate-murder victims), including the 23 victims killed in the August 3, 2019 mass shooting in El Paso, Texas. The number of murders committed by white racists has gradually increased under Trump, from 3 in 2016 to 12 in 2017, and then to 17 in 2018.

Violent acts and killings in the US by Muslim extremists are rare compared to other types of killings. However, they still pose a serious threat. During the period under review, the most serious attack occurred on October 31, 2017, when Saifullo Saipov, an immigrant from Uzbekistan and an ISIS supporter, drove a rented pickup truck into cyclists and joggers along the bike path of a park on the Hudson River in New York, after which he crashed a truck into a school bus, killing eight people (six of them foreign tourists) and injuring eleven others. The data shows that in 2018 there was a decrease in the number of individuals inspired by Salafi Jihad, with only 18 cases (in 2017 there were 28 cases and in 2016 - 66). At the same time, between 2018 and 2019, there was a relative increase in Islamic extremist activity. In the 18 years since September 11, 2001, Muslim American extremists have killed a total of 141 people out of more than 290,000 murders committed during that period, according to the Triangle Center for Terrorism and National Security.

In 2020, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, there were totally22 bias killings.
